Ashland is part of the Eden Area, unincorporated, and threaded along the corridor south of San Leandro. It is residential, diverse, and often left out of glossy East Bay roundups.

Bay Fair BART is the nearby train. Services blend into San Leandro and Hayward so completely that you can cross into Ashland without a sign you trust. That is a mapping problem, not a judgment.
