Emeryville

Emeryville is compact, flat, and aimed at the water. Pixar’s campus, Bay Street, and a serious bike connection toward the bridge sit inside a few square miles.

People land here for a newer building, a bay trail, and a commute that can be a bike ride to the bridge path or a short hop into Oakland. It does not have a BART station of its own. Amtrak stops at the Emeryville station, which is the practical rail stop for this edge of the bay.

The public realm is more path than plaza. Evenings are quieter than Uptown Oakland, with the exception of the shopping and cinema cluster at Bay Street. If you want a walkable historic main street, look next door. If you want water, a gym, and a short ride to the bridge, this is the brief.
