Families land all over the East Bay. The places with the clearest family routine are Alameda, Albany, Lafayette, Danville, Pleasanton, Castro Valley, Moraga, and parts of Fremont and Walnut Creek. Parks are close. Downtowns are usable. The tradeoff is price.
Concord, San Leandro, San Ramon, Dublin, and Brentwood are the versions where the routine still works and the budget is less theatrical. Visit a park and a grocery, not just a model home.
We will not rank schools. District lines and campus reputations change, and a ranking is a bad way to choose a block. Tour the actual campus and ask the people who do pickup.
